I was inspired at the time I made these by vintage porn images, as I explored what role magazine porn had played in my own gay experience. Especially during the earliest days f the HIV/AIDS pandemic, porn was a safe way to try and deal with the body and sexuality.

But Queer images and porn in specific has a connotation for being verboten, and belonging the dark only. I wanted to explore a more playful look at it, and make pop-art inspired images that look bold when displayed on the wall.
